On Wednesday, August 27th, over 20,000  Spain citizens chose to paint the whole town of Banol in red! But not with paint, tomatoes in fact! 
Its called Spain's messy La Tomatina festival! so called to be the biggest "food fight" to ever occur. Its a tradition that dates back to 1944. The festival has many tale son how it begun but no one knows the true reason since then its became a tradition in the tiny town. Citizens chose to extend this hour-long tomato throwing event into a week long fiesta that includes colorful parades, dancing and even fireworks. A week before the event happens vendors line up with their tomato stands and sell to the tourist and locals.
Few people say to stop this dangerous tradition but other think other wise. This years was a big successes with little to no harm done other than some "small" tomato stains on their clothes.
